Happy Holidays??

I do happen to love the holidays but for many, many, people the holiday season is a very difficult time. I work in a psychiatric unit and during this time of year the beds are full.

December is upon us, and most of us are in the midst of the hustle-and-bustle of the holiday season.  While some people thrive during this month, others have a very difficult time with it.  The majority of people fall somewhere in the middle, and almost all deal with some level of extra stress during this time of year.  There may be moments and even days full of joy and excitement of celebrating.  However, there may be moments, and even days, with periods of sadness.  My Hope is that as you go through this month, please remember that you are not alone, regardless of how you're feeling.

If you are feeling more than a little stressed or a little blue and are having suicidal thoughts PLEASE reach out. Please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). You do not have to be in an immediate, emergent, crisis to call. If you are having suicidal thoughts and would like to talk to someone please call. Most of these people are unpaid volunteers who specifically give their time because they want to help YOU. Reach out to them. They are there for you 24/7 and can help you find the strength to live another day.

God (and volunteers from a suicide hotline) give us HOPE when there seems to be none. ~ Your friend, Lib
