The Pits

You know, life can just really be the pits sometimes can't it? Have you ever seen a toddler throw themselves onto the floor, kicking, screaming, and making their face turn bright red? Don't you ever just feel like doing that yourself sometimes? I actually think we could all feel a little better if we did something like that every now and then. However, we all know there are better ways of dealing with things.

Whenever you have days or weeks or even MONTHS when you feel like that... ask God to give you strength. I have had moments in my life where I have had to ask him for strength just to get through the minutes.

I know of some people that jokingly begin reciting the serenity prayer sometimes when they want to scream but if you are really feeling at the end of your rope for whatever reason, it's not a bad idea.  Pray for strength and God will listen to you. One of my favorite bible passages is Isaiah verses 28-31. It says, "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." God himself tells us this.

So when you are at your wits end and feel like pulling out your hair, remember that God is there for you.  I mean He is really right there as close as He can get.  Pray to Him and He will bring you through your situation or bad day. Do not ever give up! Phillipians 4 verse 3 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Remember that verse the next time all you really feel like doing is throwing yourself on the floor kicking and screaming.

Jesus knows that life is hard. He was here as flesh and blood living it himself.   He knows the things we go through because He has lived it. The bible says that He is our Wonderful Counselor.  Well,  you can't counsel if you don't understand and He understands.  I know I've said this before but we really should think of Him as our best friend.  Usually when something isn't going great we feel the need to call a friend and tell them all about it and sometimes there really isn't much our friends can do except to listen. But with Jesus as your best friend He will not only listen to you, but He will comfort you, love you, and give your strength.

I want to keep reminding all of you that Jesus loves you so much and He loves you unconditionally, flaws and all.  There is no one that loves you more than Him. Please try to remember that everyday and especially during all those times when you just want to throw in the towel.

God gives us Hope when there seems to be none.
